Seminal New Wave of British Heavy Metal act Cloven Hoof are set to release their new album Never a Prophet in your Own Land on September 25th of this year. The news comes from a joint facebook post between the band and their label High Roller Records.
The album features the same lineup as the band’s previous release, although according to the group’s mastermind Lee Payne, Never a Prophet in Your Own Land is not a straightforward continuation of the band’s sound from their previous release Heathen Cross, instead returning to their roots and having more in common with A Sultan’s Ransom.
Since their reunion in 2001, Cloven Hoof have been going strong with their brand of high octane heavy metal staying true to their early 80s roots. With the promised return of Harry “The Tyrant” Conklin on vocals and a departure from the dark and brooding sounds of Heathen Cross, it seems more likely than ever that the next Cloven Hoof album will be a treat for heavy metal fans everywhere.
This is setting up to be another excellent album to be unleashed by High Roller Records, when put into the comapny of Kerrigan, Stainless, Fili Babiano’s Fortress and Zepter, one has to ask if this is the year of the High Rollers.
