Cleopatra Entertainment confirms that Di’Anno: Iron Maiden’s Lost Singer is now mid‑run in UK cinemas, having opened on the 1st of May 2026 at Birmingham’s Mockingbird Cinema. Screenings continue across the Light Cinema chain until the 2nd of June. Full listings and ticket links are available via via Music Film Network.
The film has just completed its Sound Unseen appearance in Minneapolis on the 13th of May and will screen next at the San Francisco Documentary Festival on the 3rd of June. Its North American theatrical premiere for public audiences takes place at the Lumiere Music Hall in Beverly Hills on the 9th of June 2026 at 7pm, which also marks the North American release of the digital VOD and home‑entertainment Blu Ray and DVD formats. Director Wes Orshoski will take part in a post‑screening Q&A.
The documentary presents an unfiltered portrait of Paul Di’Anno in the final years of his life, capturing his physical decline, emotional turmoil and unexpected resurgence. Featuring appearances from James Hetfield, Gene Simmons, Steve Harris and members of Exodus, Slayer, Megadeth, Overkill and Sepultura, the film follows two Iron Maiden fans who encounter Di’Anno at his lowest point and work to restore his health and career.
Critics have praised the film’s stark honesty. Metal Hammer called it a “harrowing insight” into Di’Anno’s struggles, while Metal Talk described it as “a raw, dark and intimate documentary detailing the tragic final years of Iron Maiden’s original singer”.
After years of deteriorating health and limited medical options, Di’Anno’s condition worsened during the pandemic until a fan‑led crowdfunding effort enabled him to relocate to Croatia. There he found renewed medical support, reconnected with former bandmates, began a new relationship and ultimately returned to the stage. Orshoski, who began filming in 2017, documents the full arc of this turbulent period.
A defining figure of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Di’Anno fronted Iron Maiden on their 1980 debut and its 1981 follow‑up Killers, two landmark releases that helped launch the band worldwide. His departure in 1981 remains one of metal’s most debated moments.
