How TheNwothm.com Was Formed
Launched in early 2023, TheNwothm was born from a deep passion and enduring love for the traditional metal sound. After stepping away from the writing scene for several years, it was the music, this movement that reignited my creative spark, and from that spark, TheNwothm came to life.
What began as a solo project gradually gained momentum. I connected with like-minded fans, secured interviews, built an audience, and watched the site evolve into something real and meaningful.
The site is proudly run by passionate volunteers from around the world, built by fans for fans. What began as a small vision quickly evolved into a thriving community effort. As the vision grew, so did the team. Now, in present day, we continue to grow stronger by the minute.
Our Values & Goals
From the start, TheNwothm has always been about the music. We are not here for gossip, negativity or chasing profits. Our focus is, and always has been, the artists who keep traditional heavy metal alive. Whether a band is taking its first steps or already commanding stages, signed or unsigned, based in a major city or a small town, every voice in this movement deserves to be heard.
We exist to document the scene with honesty, enthusiasm and respect. That means championing new releases, spotlighting emerging talent, supporting established acts and giving fans a place where the music is treated with the seriousness and passion it deserves. We believe in a global community built on shared values: integrity, creativity, mutual support and a love for heavy riffs that cut straight to the bone.
Our mission is simple. Celebrate the sound. Support the artists. Strengthen the culture. And help ensure that traditional metal continues to thrive for the next generation.
Looking Ahead
As we continue to grow and reach new audiences, our message stays the same. Even so, we want to give more to the people who read, share and support our work. Because of that, we keep refining our approach, testing new ideas and shaping content that genuinely connects with the community. Our core features, such as reviews and interviews, will always remain, yet we also want to introduce new formats that add value and broaden what we offer.

Since we operate as a non‑profit, we continue to explore new ways to bring in additional income and support the site’s upkeep. Merch is one option we plan to introduce as we grow. At the same time, we want to expand our writing team. Bringing in new contributors helps us maintain daily coverage and build a wider pool of voices, which keeps the content flowing and the community engaged.
