Thor Unveils “The Mighty Don’t Fall” Ahead Of Final Album “The Final Battle”

Veteran Canadian metal icon Thor has unveiled “The Mighty Don’t Fall”, the first glimpse of his forthcoming album “The Final Battle”, which is set to serve as the final chapter of a career spanning more than five decades. Planned as his last studio album and farewell tour, the release marks the beginning of what Jon Mikl Thor describes as the culmination of his life’s work.

“The Mighty Don’t Fall” brings together an impressive line-up featuring keyboard legend Rick Wakeman, renowned bassist Bob Daisley, drummer Vinny Appice, and guitarist Marcus Nand. Described by Thor as his most personal and emotional recording to date, the track serves as a tribute to fallen friends, heroes, and legends, while its accompanying video presents a darker, cinematic narrative.

Since launching his career in the early 1970s, Thor has become one of heavy metal’s most distinctive performers, combining music with spectacular feats of strength and endurance. Decades of physically demanding live performances have taken a significant toll, leading to multiple surgeries, including recent knee replacement procedures following ongoing issues sustained during touring.

Despite those challenges, Thor remains focused on delivering what he considers his definitive statement. “The Final Battle” is presented as the most ambitious project of his career, drawing together the experiences, lessons, and determination accumulated over fifty years in music and entertainment.

“The Mighty Don’t Fall” is available now on digital platforms, while a limited-edition gold vinyl release also includes Thor’s renditions of Deep Purple’s “Speed King” and Hawkwind’s “Needle Gun”, offering a further preview of what awaits on “The Final Battle”.
