Denver, CO. US heavy metal outfit Viperwitch have unveiled their latest single, “Lightning Strikes Twice”, alongside a new music video that offers the first glimpse into the band’s forthcoming second full-length release, “The Age of Steel”.
Drawing influence from the modern traditional metal movement, the track sees Viperwitch joined by Traveler vocalist Jean-Pierre Abboud, whose guest appearance adds another dimension to the song’s driving energy and soaring melodic hooks. Guitarist Will “Striker” Perkins spearheaded the writing process, with vocalist Danica “Lynx the Huntress” Minor contributing additional arrangement work, while Jason “Zeus” Pinero and Sam “Phoenix the Destroyer” Kupernik oversaw production and the final sound.
Accompanying the single is a cinematic music video that combines fantasy-inspired imagery with a distinctly retro heavy metal aesthetic. Set against the backdrop of a dystopian world shaped by conflict and survival, the visual presentation reflects the themes running throughout both the song and the wider concept behind “The Age of Steel”.
Speaking about the single, Danica Minor commented:
“We wanted this song to feel larger than life, combining the atmosphere of classic fantasy films with the intensity and speed of vintage heavy metal. Bringing Jean-Pierre on board helped elevate the track and gave it exactly the kind of commanding presence we were looking for.”
Following the release of their debut concept album, “Witch Hunt: Road to Vengeance”, Viperwitch continue to expand their creative vision through a project that places equal emphasis on storytelling, visual identity, and traditional metal songwriting.
“Lightning Strikes Twice” is available now across digital platforms, with the official music video streaming on YouTube. To mark the release, Viperwitch have also launched an extensive online merchandise range featuring apparel, accessories, and exclusive items available to fans worldwide.
