Odin Announced For First-Ever European Performance At Keep It True 2027

American heavy metal cult favourites Odin are set to make their long-awaited European debut when they appear at Keep It True Festival in April 2027. More than four decades after emerging from the famed Los Angeles metal scene, the band will perform their first-ever European show with their classic line-up intact.

Formed during the early 1980s, Odin established themselves as one of the standout acts of the burgeoning Los Angeles heavy metal movement. Sharing stages with the likes of W.A.S.P., Ratt, Armored Saint and Dokken, the group built a dedicated underground following through a blend of powerful US heavy metal, memorable songwriting and the distinctive vocals of frontman Randy O.

The band’s reputation was cemented through a series of highly regarded releases, most notably the 1985 EP “Don’t Take No For An Answer”. Featuring fan favourites such as “The Writer”, “Shining Love”, “Solar Eye” and the title track, the EP remains a cult classic among collectors and traditional metal enthusiasts. Earlier material including “Caution!” and the later release “The Gods Must Be Crazy” further strengthened the band’s enduring legacy.

Odin also reached a wider audience through their appearance in the influential 1988 documentary “The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years”, which chronicled the ambitions, excesses and realities of the Los Angeles hard rock and metal scene.

Despite earning widespread respect among fans and peers, Odin never achieved the commercial breakthrough many believed was within their grasp. Their music, however, has continued to resonate with generations of heavy metal fans, ensuring that the band’s name has remained an important part of the genre’s history.

Beyond Odin, several members went on to enjoy successful careers within the heavy metal and hard rock world. Guitarist Jeff Duncan became a longstanding member of Armored Saint, while drummer Shawn Duncan later performed with L.A. Guns. Their continued involvement in the scene has only added to the significance of this upcoming reunion performance.

For Keep It True, an event renowned for celebrating classic and often overlooked heavy metal acts, Odin’s appearance represents another landmark booking. The festival has built its reputation on bringing influential artists back into the spotlight and providing fans with once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to witness historic performances.

Odin’s Keep It True 2027 line-up will feature:

Randy O – vocals
Jeff Duncan – guitar
Aaron Samson – bass
Shawn Duncan – drums

More than 40 years after the band’s formative recordings helped establish their cult status, Odin will finally perform for European audiences when they take to the stage at Keep It True in April 2027.

Tickets for Keep It True 2027 are available via the festival’s official website.
