The Tygers of Pan Tang stand as one of the most enduring names in British heavy rock, recognised instantly by anyone who has followed the genre over the past fifty years. Unlike many bands born from the NWOBHM wave, the Tygers have never settled into nostalgia. Instead, they continue to push forward, refining their sound with renewed energy, sharper songwriting and a fire that refuses to fade.
Their latest single, “Electrifyed”, launches the campaign for the forthcoming album—and it lives up to its name. Driven by a fierce, riff‑centred backbone, the track crackles with urgency, blending the band’s trademark sound with a contemporary edge that proves they are still very much a creative force.
Vocalist Jack Meille explains:
“In Tygers history rarely has a song title suggested the album title, but this time it was clear for all of us that ‘Electrifyed’ was the one. It’s another of Robb’s riff‑based songs that will keep you headbanging from start to finish.”
Founder and guitarist Robb Weir adds his own spark: “I’m shocked! The last Tygers single came out on 21 April 2023… 2023! And now ‘Electrifyed’, the brand new single from the big cats, is out on 4 May. If this doesn’t blow the door off your fuse box, nothing will.”
With its pounding rhythm section, searing twin‑guitar interplay and a chorus built for maximum impact, “Electrifyed” captures everything that has kept the Tygers vital for more than four decades. It’s a reminder that the band’s legacy isn’t just about where they’ve been—it’s about how fiercely they continue to move forward.

Review
Electrifyed starts off with razor sharp stabs of rhythm guitars with a distinctive dark undertone. All while a spoken passage about America runs on top. Soon enough the music introduces the powerful vocals of Jack Meille on top of a stampede of sinister riffs and rolling drums. It drifts into a hard hitting 4/4 pattern with a repeating guitar phrase before we hit the uplifting chrous where there are huge rung out chords and vocals that cry out the songs title with a bright delivery. It is one of those choruses where you can guarantee people will join in singing. The structure repeats before we hit a short spicy solo that breaks things up.
The next passage bursts open with a brighter, more animated feel, the instrumentation shifting just enough to keep everything fresh before the track drops into a brooding breakdown. Here, the tom‑led patterns and vocal delivery take centre stage, holding onto the darkness while the tension coils beneath the surface. Then the full charge returns—another stampede of a verse that hits with renewed force. We’re thrown back into a soaring bridge and a massive chorus before the song snaps shut with a brief outro and one final electric jolt.
Conclusion
“Electrifyed” lands as a confident statement of where the Tygers are right now. It shows a band fully aware of their roots yet determined to keep pushing forward with power, clarity and intent. The performance is tight, the writing is focused, and the energy never dips. By the time the final hit fades, it is clear that the Tygers are not simply revisiting familiar ground. They are charging ahead with purpose, proving once again that their spark is very much alive.
