John Hadlock is a Ph.D. student and legal writer who lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is currently working on his dissertation on Harlem Renaissance poetry. John is an avid fan of traditional heavy metal, especially speed metal and epic heavy metal, as well as old school death metal, doom metal, punk, and psychedelic rock.

He loves to collect tapes, CDs, and vinyl and to support the underground by going to live shows whenever possible. You can typically find him playing D&D and board games with his wife, sewing patches onto vests, removing his two cats from the aforementioned vests, and watching horror movies.
