From the heart of Sofia, Bulgaria, I’m Alex “The Axel,” also known as “Scarsoul.” In the early 90s, my life changed forever when I discovered Heavy Metal. Breaking free from the remnants of communist culture, heavy music became my rebellion and self-expression, joining a growing legion of metal fans.

Throughout the grunge era, I stood firm as a diehard champion of heavy metal, exploring its many subgenres—speed, power, thrash, and classic. My journey led to countless festivals, concerts, and unforgettable adventures, all in pursuit of the heavy metal dream. Nearly a decade ago, I embraced NWOTHM, diving headfirst into this movement with passion and dedication.

Today, I’m a proud and dedicated CD collector,
merchandise enthusiast, tattoo freak, active member of Metal Force Bulgaria, gig organizer, and founder of my own local festival—all to support the old-school metal community.

Notoriously known for my fanatical pursuit of underground concerts, I am constantly visiting the most celebrated festival outlets, trying to expand the geography of the headbanger’s journey, adding more and more friends and like-minded pundits to my global metal network, getting close to bands and promoters—basically shaping my persona around my allegiance to the heavy sound.

Why? ‘Cause it’s not only music—it’s a chosen way of life. Never forget—HEAVY METAL IS THE LAW—and the soundtrack of my existence!
