Exclusive: Glacier give TheNwothm studio update!

Portland based heavy metal band Glacier has begun recording their next album. The band is currently working on nine tracks, with plans to include eight on the final release. The additional song may be used for a future project.

According to guitarist Maselbas, the new material represents a progression from their previous album, Passing. “Passing was more of a fan service album,” he notes. “This is more us.”

Drums are already completed, and Maselbas is nearly finished tracking rhythm guitars, with two songs remaining. Vince will record his rhythm parts next, followed by lead and ambient guitar layers, then solos. Bassist Alex will add his parts after that, and vocalist Pod will complete the process with vocals.

While the band acknowledges that the process is taking time, they cite scheduling challenges due to work commitments. “Finding time is the hard part as we all have jobs that suck away the fun parts of life,” Maselbas says. Still, the band is optimistic: “It’s definitely going to be an awesome album when it’s all finished.”

The cover and back cover artwork are already completed. No label deal has been secured yet, but the band plans to begin exploring live show opportunities once rhythm guitars and bass are finished. A tour is possible in 2026, with the potential for a few shows in 2025.
