I opened up my social media today to discover that another great heavy metal band has called it a day and that is the Italian metal warriors known as Sign of the Jackal. They left a simple message on Facebook announcing the end of the band:

Thank you all for these fantastic Years but every journey comes to an end. This time Metal = OFF. Thank you for the support friendship & beers.

Sign of the Jackal was a heavy metal band from Rovereto, Italy, active from 2008 to 2025. Blending classic metal with themes drawn from horror movies and the occult, they built a sound rooted in tradition but charged with their own energy. Their music carried the spirit of early metal—raw, melodic, and theatrical—brought to life through powerful vocals, sharp riffs, and a clear love for horror aesthetics.

Over the years, they released several well-regarded records and made a name for themselves in the underground metal scene. Though the band is no longer active, their work continues to resonate with fans of heavy metal’s darker side.
