The traditional heavy metal scene isn’t just alive—it’s thriving, louder and prouder than ever. And one of the biggest forces behind that unstoppable momentum is a YouTube channel that’s become a daily ritual for fans of Nwothm, epic metal, power metal, and everything in between. That channel is the one and only Nwothmfullalbums run by the Anderson Tiago.

It inspires us daily. His dedication and energy have absolutely played a part in why we are here, shaping what we do—and why we do it.
So today, we’re hyped to dive into his story, his vision, and what it means to truly support each other and stand united in the name of heavy metal. Let’s crank it up and get into it.

Interview
TheNwothm: Today I have the absolute pleasure of interviewing someone who is known by many metal fans in the community for being the mind behind the YouTube channel NWOTHM Full Albums! Anderson Tiago thank you for this opportunity!
Anderson: Hi Robert and readers of the NWOTHM! I am pleased to be here talking about heavy metal with people who share the same passion
I want to kick off this interview by going all the way back to the start when you were growing up. What got you into music and particular heavy metal? And would you say your family and friends at some point had an influence on you?
Anderson:It was gradual. I didn’t have any family member who was into heavy metal or even rock, to be honest. It all started with The Ramones via a friend and from there to the more mainstream hard rock like Guns N’ Roses. My first forays into metal were the Brazilian power metal band Angra and King Diamond. By then, I was hooked. It’s been more than 20 years now.
TheNwothm: As you reached the age of going to gigs and hanging out with friends, what was the metal scene like in your area? Do you think your country has a thriving metal community, or has it changed over time?
Anderson:There’s a nice metal scene in Fortaleza (my home town) especially, but not only, for thrash and extreme metal. I have great friends that are part of that scene and I know how passionate they are. But Brazil is a big country and for a long time Fortaleza was overlooked by touring international bands. This changed a bit from 2008 onwards, but we still don’t get as many shows as São Paulo, for example. For Brazil as whole, you just have to look at how many influential bands came from there to understand how much we love metal.
TheNwothm: YouTube launched back in 2005, right around the time NWOTHM was in its early stages, with bands like Cauldron, Skull Fist, and Enforcer just beginning their careers. What do you remember from that era? Were there any bands that truly excited you or left a lasting impact?
Anderson:I got into heavy metal at around 2004 when I was 15. Back then, at least in my social circle, having a PC at home wasn’t the most common thing. I didn’t get to enjoy YouTube until much later and it took me a few years to get to know those bands as well. At that time I was mostly listening to (European) power metal and the 80’s classics.
TheNwothm: Do you remember the very first heavy metal album you were bought and later with your own pocket money? There is nothing more exciting than getting home and enjoying unwrapping, reading the linear notes and listening to your cassette, CD or vinyl?
Anderson:It was actually a blind buy of two live albums: Kamelot – The Expedition and Rata Blanca – Poder Vivo. I have never heard any of the bands before, but they were the ones I could afford. I was lucky because I still love both albums to this day. It was very satisfying. I used to unwrap the CD and read the booklet in the street while walking to catch the bus back home. Sometimes I miss the naivety of those times.
TheNwothm: I have to ask! The term NWOTHM is frequently used in the metal community, but its meaning can vary from person to person. What does NWOTHM mean to you personally? How do you think the genre emerged, and in what ways do you see it blending with other styles of metal?
Anderson:People tend to think that, because I have a channel named NWOTHM Full Albums, I believe in NWOTHM as a musical style or a movement similar to the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. I don’t. These bands are just playing good old heavy metal or, like you said, a blend with other old school genres. NWOTHM is just an umbrella term that can be used to group these bands that are playing the sound we like today and separate them from the misuse of the term “heavy metal”. Try searching “heavy metal 2025” on Spotify or look at the covers of famous metal magazines. The mainstream took over it, unfortunately.
TheNwothm: What do you think of heavy metals impact globally? Where do you feel traditional metal is making waves and what bands do you think are currently making waves in the seen?
Anderson:I don’t think heavy metal, the one we like…hehe, will ever be as popular as it was in the 80’s. We’re a resistance movement that will be always underground, but always here. That’s why I feel happy when I see younger people at festival and concerts.
About the second part of the question, if you asked me a few years ago, I would say Canada. But now, my answer is definitely Greece.

TheNwothm: I am very much aware you have a colossal collection of records! What would you say your favourite traditional metal bands are and what records in particular are your most prized possessions?
Anderson:It’s always difficult to answer these questions because I love so many bands, but specifically speaking about heavy metal, I’d say King Diamond/Mercyful Fate, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Manowar, Running Wild, Accept, Dio/Ozzy and many more. Pretty boring answer, but the classics are classics for a reason.
Other bands that would definitely be on a favorite list, but are not traditional metal: Blind Guardian, Angra (well, anything with Andre Matos on vocals), X Japan, Whitesnake. If I don’t stop, I’ll be here forever.
TheNwothm: So 2016 from what I understand is the year when you started Nwothmfullalbums on Youtube! What sparked the idea to create a YouTube channel focused on traditional metal and did the direction differ from how it is now?
Anderson:My friends were all listening to new bands like Enforcer, Skull Fist and Steelwing, but I resisted the idea. After missing a concert, can’t remember if it was Skull Fist or Steelwing, and realising how much fun my friends had, I decided to give those bands a chance and created the channel as a playlist for myself. I never intended to grow as much as it did. When people started listening to the channel, then I decided to be like a catalogue of what’s currently happening in our scene. That’s what I have been doing since.
TheNwothm: How did you come up with the idea for the logo and channel art of the fist with studded bracelet? It captures the essence of metal perfectly?
Anderson:I got the idea from the same place I got the name NWOTHM. There was a list on Rate Your Music with some bands from that time and the fist picture. I tried to find the list again, but was unable. The current logo was a courtesy of my friend Daniel Porta. He’s great illustrator and designer and has done many artworks and logos for NWOTHM bands.
TheNwothm: Being a YouTube content creator is no easy task and I to have been connected to that world on a personal level. What challenges have you encountered over the years as a content creator and what ways have you managed to overcome them?
Anderson:My biggest challenge is to manage family life (I’m a father of four kids aged between the ages of 9 to 2), work and the channel. There aren’t enough hours in a day.
Another big problem is the copyright issue. The channel is not monetised, so I don’t make any money from the views. Everything posted there has the permission of either band or label, but even then I get videos blocked by third-party handlers like CDBaby. The bands use those companies to get their music on streaming services, but then they just decide to block my videos.
TheNwothm: In relation to my last question, I understand you have a full time job and children so how do you juggle a family life and work with running one of the biggest heavy metal channels on Youtube?
Anderson:How do I juggle? I don’t. Or do it very badly. Often I miss deadlines concerning albums or videos to be posted. Forget to download files or respond to emails. But I also try to think that the channel is a hobby I do for love, not a job. I still wish I could do better. Maybe when the kids are all grown up.
TheNwothm: And in reflection what joy does your work bring you, and what keeps you passionate about what you do?
Anderson:When I post an album that I really like and see people getting excited about it. That’s what make my work worth it. To be honest, I wished to be in a band doing what these guys are doing, but I just don’t have the talent. So I hype those people who have it.

TheNwothm: New Age of Steel Vol 1 is a CD you have out through yourself and NoDustRecords. It has 13 tracks of some of the best heavy metal bands out there! Where did the idea come from and how did you make it become a reality? Do you have plans for future editions?
Anderson:The plan was for it to become a series. I even started gathering songs for a 2nd volume but life got in the way. I wanted to have a mix of highlight tracks from the channel and a few exclusive tracks that can only be found in the compilation. But I don’t feel comfortable asking bands for an exclusive song when it’s so expensive for them to record.
TheNwothm: I am so happy for you that your friend Lukas Kurtscheidt has become a official part of NWOTHM Full Albums team! Was it easy to persuade him to jump onboard and help you with everything related to the channel?
Anderson:He was eager to help and offered his help many times before. But I always felt the channel and I too connected to share with someone else. For example, on my personal Instagram I mostly share pictures of my kids or stuff I do with my family. When I wanted to share something about heavy metal, my CD collection, even when it was not specifically NWOTHM, I used the channel’s social media.
Anderson:However, when I got my current job, it became impossible to deal with everything alone and Lukas answered the call. He’s been doing a lot in helping me to be more organised. He’s also posting a lot on the channel’s Instagram since he’s from Germany, the epicentre of the NWOTHM movement. There’s always a concert or festival he’s going to. If you see him around, pay him a beer. He’s doing a great work.

TheNwothm: What are your plans with the channel moving forward? Are there any new ideas you have for content or are there any old ideas you would like to do more of?
Anderson:Lukas and I were thinking about making videos together discussing heavy metal in general, not only NWOTHM. But any plan will only go ahead when I leave my current job. The schedule is too hectic to do anything other than survive.
TheNwothm: Like our site, your channel is fuelled by a deep passion for music—something that countless bands truly admire about what you do. Of course you don’t monetise albums so for those who appreciate your work, what are the best ways fans and followers can support you?
Anderson:We have a Patreon page. We can’t offer any real benefits for those helping us, but we appreciate if you just want to do it because you like what we do.
It’s http://patreon.com/nwothmfull.
You can also donate via this link: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/nwothmfull
Anything helps.
TheNwothm: And how can bands submit music to the channel? Do you take both physical and digital submissions?
Anderson:We have a pinned post on our Facebook page explaining how to do it. But you basically send an email to nwothmfull@gmail.com. If your band fits the style, we post. There are a few other details like no exclusively instrumental albums, AI music and how to send the files once we agree to share, but you can find everything in the post already mentioned.
TheNwothm: If anyone would like to follow you, apart from the YouTube channel, what social media pages do you have?
Anderson:Facebook and Instagram for now. Maybe I’ll do a TikTok in the future. I don’t really like this platform, but I think we should work on the new generation.
Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@NWOTHMFullAlbums
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nwothmfullalbums/
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nwothmfull/
TheNwothm: Finally is there anything else you would like to mention to our community?
Anderson:Just to thank you and them for listening to the channel. Don’t forget to subscribe and like the videos, so they can be shown to more people.
More important, if you like the album on the channel, buy the CD, LP, tape or a t-shirt, a patch. Support the bands that are working hard to keep the flame alive.
