Review
New Age opens with this harmonised guitar lick that sparkles under the sun, combined with big open rhythm chords and booming bass notes. The drumming is a double kick pummel that carries things forward until we reach the verse. Here we are focused on Sebastian Palma’s rich vocal lines and bass lines as everything else is stripped back for a brief moment. But eventually heavy hitting guitars come back in along straight to the point drumming. Everything here feels a lot more toned down then the intro, but uses little build ups to create interest. The choruses use velvety layered vocals and a straight forward drum beats to help drive it a long. The solo is short but sweet adding an extra little bit of spice to mix. And if you listen carefully you will also hear those wonderful leads come back. A straightforward but warming first track.
Stayin’ Alive is much more faster, and even more furious! The riffs here come at you like a tornado, sucking everything up and spitting things out! Lucha and Tony leave the ground smoking with their fiery metal assault! All of this is happening while Alejandro and Lalo hold down a tightly synchronised rhythm section. But I think my highligth are the solos that chop and change between the guitarists in an almost playful way! Their skills shine through and I hope in future tracks they continue showing what they are made of! But of course Sebastian once again delivers an exceptional performance with his vocals – something that feels like a force of nature!
Up next is an unexpected cover of the song “Anger” by Thor. Now personally I am not familiar with the works of Thor but I can kind of see how it fits in nicely with the other two tracks on the EP. Its got that warrior feel, especially with the vocal ideas that run throughout. It feels like their is much more character on Sebastian’s part. The guitar work is this simple flow of powerful riffs and there are even some synth notes in the background acting like a bed to the rest of the instruments. There are kickass moments of “aye, aye, aye” which give listeners the opportunity to fist pump towards the sky! Why do i get a slight Manowar vibe? And a trad metal record would not be complete with out some high pitched vocal screams!

Conclusion
Blizzard Hunter return with a solid, no-nonsense EP that hits all the right notes. It’s a concise release, but it delivers with confidence and a clear sense of direction. There’s plenty to enjoy here, especially the standout lead work, which really adds character to the overall sound. If you’re already a fan, this is a worthy addition to your collection—and a promising sign of what’s to come. Nice work, lads.
