Austrian heavy metal force Venator is back with a brand-new track, “Race to Glory,” offering another electrifying preview of their upcoming album, Psychodrome. Set for international release on April 25th via Dying Victims Productions, this second full-length promises to build on the band’s reputation for delivering pure, unfiltered heavy metal. Formed in 2016, Venator took a few years to find their stride, but when they did, they hit the ground running. Their 2020 debut EP, Paradiser, quickly made waves, later appearing on a split LP with the late Angel Blade. Those early tracks made an immediate impact, transporting listeners straight to 1983 with their sharp riffs and anthemic choruses. The momentum only grew with the release of Echoes From the Gutter in early 2022—an album that wasn’t just a debut but a declaration. Packed with raw energy and relentless hooks, it captured the essence of classic heavy metal while proving that Venator wasn’t just revisiting the past—they were forging their own path.

Since then, the band has hit the road hard, bringing their high-energy performances to every stage they could. In 2023, they toured alongside Megaton Sword, followed by another run in 2024 with Toxikull. That road-worn energy bleeds into Psychodrome, an album that’s both a natural evolution and a bold step forward. While retaining the street-level grit of their debut, this new record refines their signature sound, offering a mix of fist-pumping mid-tempos, high-speed burners, and moody slow-burners—all driven by their knack for unforgettable melodies. Frontman Hans Huemer delivers another powerhouse vocal performance, balancing raw intensity with soaring emotion, while the band locks in with razor-sharp precision.
