Vancouver heavy metal outfit SPELL has officially begun tracking their highly anticipated new album at Little Red Sounds studio. Over the past three days, the band has been locked in, laying down bass and drums with an intense focus on capturing the raw energy of their sound.
“Everything’s going really well so far,” the band shared. “We’re feeling good, playing smooth, and aiming for full takes of each song—minimal editing, maximum impact.”
Returning to work with their longtime producer littleredsounds, who has been instrumental in shaping their sound, SPELL is pushing for an organic and powerful recording process. The band’s signature blend of heavy metal and hard rock, infused with themes of occultism, has earned them a devoted following, and this upcoming album promises to deliver more of the spellbinding intensity they’re known for.
“Wait until you guys hear these new tunes!” they added. “We can’t wait to share them with you.”
Since forming in 2013 (previously known as Stryker from 2007-2013), SPELL has released a string of critically acclaimed albums under Bad Omen Records, including The Full Moon Sessions (2014), For None and All (2016), Opulent Decay (2020), and Tragic Magic (2022). The band has also contributed to notable compilation albums, further cementing their place in the underground heavy metal scene.
Stay tuned for more updates on the album’s progress and upcoming release details.
