Mexico’s speed/thrash metal powerhouse PHANTOM has announced the release of their highly anticipated sophomore full-length album, Tyrants of Wrath, set to drop on April 25, 2025, via High Roller Records. The album will be available in all formats, delivering an unrelenting sonic assault for fans of pure, unfiltered speed and thrash metal.
Recorded and mixed at Nehtron Studios Mexico by the band and Héctor Northen, and mastered by Patrick Engel at Temple of Disharmony, Tyrants of Wrath captures PHANTOM’s signature intensity while expanding on their ferocious sound. The album artwork was crafted by the talented Maegan LeMay, visually encapsulating the album’s aggressive and dark themes.
Drawing inspiration from the genre’s revered pioneers such as Razor, Dark Angel, Merciless, Living Death, and Slayer, PHANTOM blends traditional thrash aggression with a modern edge. Tracks like “Nimbus” pay homage to old-school legends like Manilla Road, Gotham City, and Heavy Load, while the intricately structured “Nazguhl” showcases the band’s fearless approach to songwriting without compromising their extreme metal roots.
In support of Tyrants of Wrath, PHANTOM will embark on their first-ever European tour in September/October 2025 alongside Brazilian metal force Evilcult. Frontman J.C. expresses the band’s excitement: “It’s gonna be our first European tour, and we are very excited. You can expect total devastation and absolutely merciless, breakneck performances!”
