Band of the day: Writhen Hilt (Germany)

Writhen Hilt is a heavy metal band from Braunschweig, Germany, formed in 2023. Rising from the ashes of Booze Control, the band features the same four members but stands as a distinct new entity. Their sound blends classic heavy metal with a fresh, razor-sharp edge, channeling a passion for epic storytelling and powerful riffs. Signed to Jawbreaker Records, Writhen Hilt debuted in 2024 with the The Iron Sparrow demo which showcases their raw energy and hints at the dynamic direction the band is heading. Later that year, they followed up with their Ancient Sword Cult EP, further cementing their place in the metal scene. With members also known from bands like Flame, Dear Flame, and Shepherd’s Guns, Writhen Hilt is set to carve its own path in the heavy metal world.
