French dark and melodic heavy metal band The Losts have released the first single from their forthcoming third studio album, “Venom Within.” The track, titled ‘A Dark Place to Hide’, is available now on all major streaming platforms via Finnish label Inverse Records:
Formed in 2010 and known for their fusion of heavy metal with black, thrash, and doom influences, The Losts continue their conceptual journey with “Venom Within,” due for release on the 19th December 2025. The new album builds on the mythology of the “Losts” which are fictional beings whose story serves as a satirical lens on human nature and society.
“‘A Dark Place to Hide’ is the perfect gateway into Venom Within. It carries all the hallmarks of our sound — powerful, lyrical heavy metal with black and thrash textures. Conceptually, it picks up where Mystery of Depths left off. The Losts once tried to blend in with mankind, but their hopes were crushed. Now they step back, watching humanity spiral toward programmed self-destruction. ‘We saw enough,’ they proclaim.” -Vocalist/guitarist YGC comments
Mixed and mastered by Phil Reinhalter and Frédéric Motte, “Venom Within” features 11 tracks that expand the band’s sonic and narrative scope. The album introduces a range of vocal “characters” and continues the band’s tradition of blending melodic intensity with conceptual depth.
The Losts have toured extensively across France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, sharing stages with Serenity, Dirty Shirt, Zornnheym, Loudblast, and more. Their previous album “Mystery of Depths” was released in 2021 to critical acclaim, earning spots on several international “Best of” lists.
