Exclusive Interview with Dee Wrathchild of Sacred Leather

By Mark Pruett

Beneath the quiet hum of suburban Indianapolis, something ancient stirs. A dog barks. Lawnmowers drone. But under one unassuming porch, the ground trembles… not from tectonic shift, but from the unrelenting pulse of heavy metal. Dee Wrathchild sits there, calm as a storm’s eye, sipping the silence like a shot of gasoline. Whether it’s the molten river of metal flowing beneath his house or the fire in his veins feeding that current, one thing’s certain: this man bleeds metal.

As the voice of Sacred Leather, Dee stands at the helm of a band that delivers red hot traditional metal to their fans. It is polished with sweat, and then hurled back into the void with righteous fury. Alongside axe-wielder Lynn St Michaels, low-end priest Magnus Legrand, thunder-bringer Don Diamond, and riff-slinger Cvon Owens, Sacred Leather is poised to unleash their second studio album, Keep the Fire Burning, on December 12th, 2025 via King Volume Records/Wise Blood Records.

If the first single, “Spitfire at Night,” is any omen, fans of Judas Priest, Accept, and Iron Maiden better buckle up. This isn’t nostalgia, it’s resurrection. Soaring solos, fiery vocals, and a rhythm section that hits like a warhammer to the chest. There’s even a little hip-shake swagger à la Whitesnake, because why not strut while you shred?

In this interview, we dive deep with Dee Wrathchild and talk about the band’s roots, their sonic alchemy, and the road-worn tales that shaped them. There are surprises, revelations, and riffs aplenty. TheNWOTHM is proud to bring you this conversation with one of metal’s true torchbearers.

So plug in, turn it up, and dig in. The fire is burning and Sacred Leather is fanning the flames.
