After a whole decade of thrashing and brutal riffs and face melting shredding, Germany’s own VULTURE are back and powerful than ever with a brand new electrifying single in celebration of the band’s 10th anniversary!
Vulture started off back in the year 2015 in Dortmund, Germany; With the band’s influences stemming from melodies heard in NWOBHM, the aggressive tempos from early thrash and dark themes derived from 70’s and 80’s horror movies, the band had a vision. From there on, the rest is history. Vulture has earned a reputation with delivering thunderous and brutal releases since the very beginning. With awesomely notable work such as: “Victim of the Blade” (EP, 2016), “The Guillotine” (Album, 2017), “Sentinels” (Album, 2024), with the inclusion of “Dealin’ Death” (Album, 2021) and “Ghastly Waves and Battered Graves” (Album, 2019). Jumping over to present 2025, and as stated in the beginning, the band has proudly released a new single titled, “Power Thrash” in honor of their 10 year run! Out now as a digital release through Metal Blade Records!
Review
“Power Thrash” is quite a powerhouse on its own as a single, which is already enough for anyone to know how insanely good this track is honestly.
The song begins with aggressive, straight to your face riffs and frantic drumming that are already enough to spew out energizing, raw and electrifying energy straight into your eardrums. Fans of old school thrash would most likely dig this track, as it definitely rips right through with that pure speed and thrash sound similar to that of earlier bands like Exodus, Exciter, and even early Testament for example. It is fast/ real speedy and the tempo rightfully remains consistent all throughout the entirety of the song.
The lyrical themes of the track fit just like a glove to the raw, dangerous sound of the song. The lyrics focus on the brutal metal attack on the audience that the band is sure to make at a live show. “Our Metal’s the ultimate force! As riffs split your skull in a flash- Power Thrash!” I believe this is a real kick-ass release to celebrate their 10 years and of course, even the band as a whole. The frantic frenzy and invasiveness of the riffs, the tight drumming, and high powered vocals in this single are spectacular and fantastic for those looking to truly headbang over and over with a deadly dose of Power Thrash!
Conclusion
Vulture have absolutely done it again, and even though it is only a new single for now, the band did an absolutely great job in all pouring their passion and love for metal into this track and as a celebration of the band itself. One single, yet a very mighty release! Following their previous releases, I was not disappointed in the slightest by this track.Absolutely loved every aspect of the track from the sound, riffs, and overall theme of the song as it also serves as a honest representation in a way of Vulture as a band. It is a powerful and epic new song that followers of the band and the genre needed as of lately, and of course I (like many others) am eagerly waiting and on the look out for any more potential releases from the mighty Vulture!
