Starlight Ritual premiere “Omenkillers” video ahead of new album “Rogue Angels”

Montreal-based heavy metal outfit Starlight Ritual have released a new video for “Omenkillers,” taken from their upcoming second album “Rogue Angels,” due out October 31, 2025 via High Roller Records. Watch the clip here:

Founded in 2013 by guitarists J.F. Bertrand and Dan Toupin, Starlight Ritual began as a doom-infused instrumental project with psychedelic leanings. Joined by bassist Mat Forge and drummer Louis Lecomte, the band’s early material was heavy, progressive, and atmospheric. Their first release, a self-titled EP in 2015, ran nearly 40 minutes and laid the foundation for their evolving sound.

The arrival of vocalist Damian Ritual in 2014 marked a turning point. With his addition, the band began shifting toward a more classic heavy metal style. Their 2016 EP “Age of the Universe” hinted at this transformation, which fully crystallized with the release of “Sealed in Starlight” in 2021 on Temple of Mystery Records.

Damian explains, “Our early work featured longer, more psychedelic tracks meant for zoning out, but I never felt that truly represented what the band could be. On the ‘Age of the Universe’ EP, we started leaning into a more classic heavy metal sound. By the time we released ‘Sealed in Starlight’, we had really found our identity: traditional heavy metal with epic flair, channeling the likes of Manowar and Running Wild, as well as older influences like Thin Lizzy and Rainbow. We blend the styles we love and make them our own. If I had to put a label on it, I’d call it ‘epic hard rocking traditional metal’ – if that’s even a real genre!”

“Rogue Angels” continues that journey, offering ten tracks that combine melody, power, and storytelling. The album artwork was created by Marie-Pier Lapointe.
