British heavy metal legends DIAMOND HEAD have premiered a new animated video for “The Messenger,” the second single from their upcoming live album “Live And Electric,” out today Silver Lining Music.
Taken from their performance at the Cambridge Corn Exchange during their 2022 UK tour with Saxon, “The Messenger” captures the band’s signature power. “It started life in my head when I was watching Cradle Of Filth live on the 70,000 Tons Of Metal cruise,” notes founding guitarist Brian Tatler. “They played a song with a fantastic groove…so I came up with ‘The Messenger’ riff – everything comes from somewhere. We thought this version at Cambridge was the mightiest. Heavy Metaaaaaaaal!”
Created by acclaimed visual artist Costin Chioreanu, the video showcases the ferocity and groove that defines DIAMOND HEAD’s live prowess.
Live And Electric delivers a thunderous set spanning the band’s career, with recordings from Aberdeen, Blackburn, York, Cambridge, Cardiff, and Bexhill. It was mixed by Jay Shredder and mastered by vocalist Rasmus Bom Andersen, whose dynamic presence joins Tatler’s iconic riffing to electrify classics like “Am I Evil?” and newer cuts such as “Belly Of The Beast.”
The album will be available on double vinyl, CD, and digital formats. For more information and preorders, visit Silver Lining Music or Diamond Head Official.
