Single review: Starforce “Rock And Roll Slave”

Release date:

2–4 minutes

StarForce is a heavy/speed metal band from Mexico City, Mexico, formed in 2021. Known for their high-energy sound and thematic focus on space, the cosmos, and wickedness, the band operates independently without a record label. Their discography began with the single “StarForce” in 2022, followed by the EP “The Universe Is Mine” and the split “Guerreras Del Metal – Volumen 1” later that same year. In 2023, they released the single “Sign of an Angel,” continuing their powerful metal streak. In 2024, the band contributed to the split Hell’Stars, and they’ve just released “Andrómeda,” the lead single from their highly anticipated album dropping on July 11th. Today, I’m reviewing their newest release, “Rock And Roll Slave.”

Review

I discovered Starforce not too long ago and I must say they excellent and certainly are one of my “ones to watch.” While I eagerly await for them to drop their album in July at least my tastebuds will hopefully be tantalised with their new single “Rock And Roll Slave.”

It roars into motion with big guitars and and drum tumbles. Ferocious riffs follow and a bone shaking rhythm section takes charge. If I can describe what the guitar work feels like then it would be going like a million miles an hour with the wind ripping the skin from your face. Mely Wild takes centre stage with her incredibly powerful vocals, taking control and able to capture any listeners attention. But if you also listen to the rest of the band the music is exhilarating. There are so many intricacies, cops and changes bringing it all together like a big woven tapestry. Its a given that people will jump on board with the group shouts for the choruses because they have so much strength.

Now where do I even begin withe solo section? Kevin and Yeux have some serious talent and just show off. Theres face melting shredding, and even a part where one of them is tapping while the other is scaling the guitar and it all locks together perfectly. I kid you not what is this wizardry going on? The rhythm section is like sonic storm all while this is going on with thunderous double kick and booming bass lines. Just listening to this I actually wonder how big the kit is? Did Rockdrigo get it from Neil Pert?

Soon enough Mely regains control steering this beast once again. Theres another colossal sounding chorus with so much fire and intensity I honestly can not imagine what the bands live shows are like! I guess hot and sweaty and full of energy and adrenaline! Either way I was tapping my feet at my desk and singing in my head over and over as I listened to this! What a song!

Conclusion

In conclusion, Starforce have truly announced their arrival with a thunderous statement. “Rock And Roll Slave” is more than just a single — it’s an electrifying ride that showcases each member’s raw talent and synergy, wrapped in pure rock ‘n’ roll fury. From Mely Wild’s commanding vocals to the jaw-dropping guitar work and the storming rhythm section, this track is an adrenaline rush from start to finish. If this is any indication of what their upcoming album has in store, then July can’t come fast enough. Starforce are not just ones to watch; they’re a force to be reckoned with!
