French heavy metal band Star Rider has released their first “Offstage” video, filmed during the 2025 edition of Full Metal Rocket, an event organized by the Southlanders Association in honor of their 10th anniversary. The event was supported by La Forge, a key player in the regional cultural scene.
The Offstage video was entirely produced by Alexis, aka Fatxtransistor, whose work brought the band’s energy and story to life. Star Rider extends a massive thank you for his full-scale involvement in the project.
Formed in early 2022, Star Rider is a high-energy heavy metal band from the French Alps, with members based around Grenoble and Saint-Étienne. Their sound draws heavily from classic metal influences like Motörhead, Saxon, Exciter, and Judas Priest, blending raw energy with vintage spirit and powerful hooks.
The band began when Killer Kim (vocals) and Chainsaw Charly (guitars) crossed paths at a local metal fest in Lyon over whiskey and shared ambition. That same night, Charly met Läther Deth (guitars), completing the twin-guitar core. Soon after, bassist Alex Renegade joined following a spontaneous carpool conversation, and by early 2023, Lizzy Kicks (drums) solidified the lineup.
Their debut 4-track EP Star Rider was released in late 2022 and quickly sold out, setting the stage for the band’s momentum. In 2024, they released their first full-length album, Outta Time, a self-produced effort exploring themes of love, death, addiction, and resistance, while showcasing their evolution toward more sophisticated songwriting and vintage-inspired production.
Star Rider is known for their passionate live performances, having shared the stage with bands like Enforcer and Sortilège, and for their deep connection to their region’s natural beauty and musical history.
Their music and merch can be found on Bandcamp, and fans can follow their journey via Facebook, Instagram (@starrider.official), or their official website. Currently touring in support of Outta Time, the band is also working on a follow-up album set for 2026.
