Phantom Spell announces new album “Heather & Hearth,” out July 18th, 2025 – Preorders now available

Phantom Spell will release its second full-length album, Heather & Hearth, on 18 July 2025. Pre-orders for the album are now open.

Bursting forth from The Black Spire with a captivating fusion of classic progressive rock and NWOBHM-era metal, Phantom Spell has been drawing in listeners since its emergence in 2021. Combining dexterous twin-lead guitars, undulating synths and Hammond organ, the project provides a dynamic foundation for Kyle McNeill’s distinctive vocals, evoking the spirit of high fantasy and old-school adventure.

Following 2022’s Immortal’s Requiem, Heather & Hearth marks the return of Phantom Spell after nearly three years of relative silence. The new album is a collection of introspective, narrative-driven tracks that blend the warmth of home with vivid fantasy and cautionary tales. Acoustic guitar now takes a more prominent role, with folk influences woven throughout the compositions. Moments of space and fragility contrast with bursts of Hammond-led intensity, balancing melancholy with a persistent undercurrent of hope.

All instruments on the album were performed by Kyle McNeill, who also handled recording and mixing duties at his own Wizard Tower Studios. The album was mastered by Justin Weis at Trakworx.

The vinyl editions will be released via Cruz Del Sur Music, continuing the project’s ongoing collaboration with the label. CD and cassette formats will be handled by McNeill’s own Wizard Tower Records.
