Amulance’s “Feel the Pain” returns July 25th — a forgotten power/speed metal masterpiece reborn on vinyl & CD!

One of the underground’s most coveted metal gems is roaring back to life. The long-awaited reissue of “Feel the Pain,” the After decades in the shadows, one of American metal’s best-kept secrets is back in the spotlight. “Feel the Pain,” the scorching 1989 debut from Chicago power/speed metal band Amulance, is being reissued on CD and vinyl for the first time in years, landing in stores and online on July 25, 2025.

Released at the tail end of the ‘80s underground metal boom, Feel the Pain captured lightning in a bottle; an unrelenting blast of melodic aggression, precision riffing, and thunderous rhythm. The album quickly became a cult favourite, drawing comparisons to bands like Helstar, Metal Church, and Liege Lord, yet remained a hidden gem due to its limited original release.

Now, with the full participation of the band, this definitive reissue brings the album roaring back to life. Remastered from the best available analog sources, “Feel the Pain” has never sounded this fierce or this clear. Every solo scorches, every vocal soars, and every beat hits with renewed power.

Amulance, formed in 1984, built their reputation in the Midwest metal circuit with explosive live shows and a relentless commitment to high-speed, high-impact songwriting. Frontman Rik Baez delivers a commanding vocal performance across the record, matched by the punishing drive of drummer Eric Wedow and bassist Tom Braddish. Their chemistry results in a sound that is both sharp-edged and anthemic; a snapshot of American metal at its raw, unfiltered best.

The reissue includes newly updated artwork, extensive liner notes, and a refreshed layout that honours the original while expanding the story behind the music.
