Exciting news for fans of the Swedish metal band Wolf! The band have entered the studio to record their follow up to the 2022 release “Shadowland.”
Over on their Facebook the band said:
Friends! We have started the recording of the coming album. Johan “Mr Blister” Koleberg is smashing out the rhythms for the first six songs on this old school Tama and it sounds phenomenal. Stay tuned!
For over 25 years, Swedish heavy metal veterans Wolf have delivered a relentless mix of traditional heavy metal and fiery power metal, earning their place as one of the genre’s most enduring and respected acts. Known for channeling the spirit of legends like Iron Maiden, Mercyful Fate, and Judas Priest, Wolf combines soaring vocals, razor-sharp guitar work, and thunderous rhythms into a sound that’s both classic and unmistakably their own.
Formed in the mid-90s by vocalist/guitarist Niklas Stålvind, the band has released nine studio albums and toured across Europe and beyond, sharing stages with some of metal’s most revered names. Wolf’s dedication to high-quality songwriting, dynamic performances, and old-school metal values has earned them a loyal global following.
The current lineup featuring longtime collaborators Pontus Egberg (King Diamond) on bass and Johan Koleberg (ex-Therion, ex-Lion’s Share) on drums has brought new fire and focus to the band. Their most recent album, Shadowland (2022), was praised for its powerful execution and thematic depth, balancing melody, aggression, and atmosphere in equal measure.
Now, Wolf is deep into work on their next chapter: a new album that promises to push their sound further while staying true to the spirit that’s driven them for more than two decades. With no signs of slowing down, Wolf continues to lead the charge for true heavy metal in the modern age.
