Heavy Sentence have called it quits!

Sad times in the world of heavy metal as Manchester, UK band Heavy Sentence have called it a day!

They put out this message on their social media:

Sadly it has come time to set the funeral pyre alight and push Heavy Sentence out to sea. We’re calling it a day. Love to all who put us on and came out to wreck with us. HS

Heavy Sentence was a British heavy metal band hailing from Manchester, England. Formed in 2017, the band quickly carved out a name for themselves in the underground metal scene with their raw, in your face approach to the genre. Drawing inspiration from classic heavy metal and the energy of the NWOBHM movement, they delivered a sound that was both powerful and unapologetic.

Their discography includes a series of well-received releases, starting with their debut Protector / Darkest Hour EP in 2017, followed by Edge of the Knife / Heavy Vengeance in 2018. They gained further traction with their compilation 7 Inches on Tape (2019) before dropping their acclaimed full-length album, Bang to Rights (2021), which showcased their aggressive yet melodic style. Their final release, the Warriors of Madness EP (2024), solidified their reputation.

Heavy Sentence was associated with Dying Victims Productions and also signed to Crypt of the Wizard, labels known for supporting traditional heavy metal. Though their time was relatively short, Heavy Sentence left a lasting impression on the heavy metal community, earning praise for their energetic live performances and dedication to the spirit of classic metal.
