Review: Elle Tea, “Into the Fall”

Release date: March 28th, 2025

Elle Tea is the solo work of Leonardo Trevisan out of Italy. He plays all instruments and creates the fantastic cover art for the music. Elle Tea returns in 2025 with the EP “Into the Fall” that shows a deeper and more introspective side to his talents. This is another deeply imaginative and expressive effort from this refreshing artist. This is a follow up to my 2024 review of “Pain and Vengeance”.

Review

The EP “Into the Fall” is set to be released on March 28th, 2025. Elle Tea/Leonardo Trevisan was kind enough to send an advance copy for review and I could not have been any happier to take on this assignment. Of course, I was elated to listen to the music and gained an even greater amount of respect for the artist. As I stated previously, there is clearly a deep well of talent and creativity being tapped into here. Once again, I encourage everyone to take a listen.

Here are my thoughts track-by-track:

Into the Fall – The song immediately opens and sets an ethereal tone that takes on a heavily prog influenced theme. Listening to this track is like a lucid daydream where you’re on an amazing journey into distant unknown lands. For example, the lyric “On the seas of a mystic moon / In the depths of space and time…” tell you everything you need to know about the coming journey. There are the good bones of a hard rock song that take flight into something unexpected. This opening track tells you everything you need to know about what is coming next.

Alive for Revenge – At the heart of this song is a heavy theme: revenge. When Leonardo sings, “I can’t stop until I’m dead…” you know there is a story with some sort of gravity that is about to be told. Again, this is a fast-paced hard rock song at its core, but it’s wrapped in the silvery wings of a prog induced fever dream. Against that backdrop, there are imaginative and deep lyrics that tell a story worth listening to.

I Gave Away – This song starts with an acoustic interlude and crescendos into a mid-tempo rocker. I’ll stop short of calling this a ballad, but there is absolutely a forlorn aura to this song. By my ear, it’s a lost soul searching for redemption in a vast ocean of chaos that life can serve up.

Rising Winds – This is a fun and imaginative instrumental. From the first note, you strap in for a dream-like jaunt into another place and time. Throughout this song there is a playful juxtaposition between an electric and acoustic guitar. Hard rock and folk crash together into something enjoyable.

Where Light Arrives – The closing track opens softly and blossoms into the introspective musings of someone contemplating love and loss. One lyric speaks loud and clear to me, “I’m a fool who speaks by songs / Everything I’ve loved is gone”. In the context of the music, that hits hard. Though, it feels more like contemplation that a dire situation.

Conclusion

I can guess what you’re thinking… “there is no thundering bass, bone crushing drums, wailing guitars, and screeching vocals.” Also, there are no lyrics about battles, dragons, demons, wizards, and themese of that ilk. Both of these statements are 100% correct. Look, I love a good dose speed metal (read my review of Mechanic Tyrants, which is /chefkiss perfection), but I listen to a lot of other types of music too. Within the living soul of Elle Tea there are a maelstrom of hard rock and metal influences. However, Leonardo Trevisan goes deep and introspective here. Quite honestly, this is another great EP in the collective works from Elle Tea. There are brilliant flashes of prog and folk that show another side to his talented mind.

I’m a fan and will continue to watch this artist shapeshift and grow.

Please give this artist a ton of support.
