Heavy metal fans, mark your calendars! The wait is finally over – Sweden is getting a brand-new festival dedicated to old-school classic heavy metal! LUCIAROCK 2025 will take place on December 12th–13th in Eskilstuna, promising a legendary lineup of Swedish heavy metal pioneers that paved the way for today’s global rock scene.

The idea for LUCIAROCK 2025 has been brewing for some time, inspired by one of the biggest moments in heavy metal history – the legendary December 1983 show in Westfalenhalle, Dortmund. That TV and radio broadcast set the gold standard for an entire generation of metal fans, who recorded it on VHS and cassette tapes to experience it over and over again. It defined the sound, look, and spirit of classic heavy metal in Sweden and beyond.

LUCIAROCK 2025 pays homage to this historic moment while also celebrating the First Wave of Swedish Heavy Metal (FWOSHM) and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM).

“Now we will try to recreate this, and in this first year, we aim to honor the Swedish heavy metal bands that came first and paved the way for today’s Swedish rock and metal bands that dominate stages and festivals around the world.”

The festival will take place across two venues in central Eskilstuna, which will temporarily take on new names for the event. On Friday, December 12, the action will unfold at STADTFALENHALLE (Biff Grill & Bar), while Saturday, December 13, will see the festival move to NORTHFALENHALLE (Lokomotivet). Both venues are within a convenient 10-minute walking distance of each other, ensuring an easy and seamless experience for attendees. Each venue will feature full food and bar services with full liquor rights.
