Following the success of their EP “Creation’s Call” in August 2024, Northern Colorado’s epic fantasy metal champions, Siege Perilous, are gearing up for their most ambitious endeavour yet—their first full-length album.

Titled “Becoming the Dragon,” this record takes listeners on an epic, cinematic metal journey, weaving a tale of warriors, destiny, and mythical beasts. To elevate the storytelling and bring this fantasy world to life, Siege Perilous has enlisted two of the genre’s most renowned voices: Fabio Lione (Angra, ex-Rhapsody of Fire), whose legendary vocals define power metal, and Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance), whose soaring contralto adds a majestic, operatic dimension to the saga.

Crafted as a full-scale narrative power metal opera, “Becoming the Dragon” follows the path of the Child of Prophecy, portrayed by Fabio Lione. Destined to slay the mighty dragon, he soon finds himself questioning his role—was he truly a hero, or merely a pawn of fate? As he embarks on a soul-searching adventure across a vast fantasy realm, he is guided by the enigmatic Sorceress (Kristin Starkey), who aids him in challenging destiny itself to forge a new future.

To bring this grand vision to life, Siege Perilous is turning to the power metal community through a Kickstarter campaign, inviting fans to be part of the journey.

Frontman Shaughnessy McDaniel shares his excitement:
