Band of the day: Croskill (Brazil)

Croskill is a band from Brazil, formed in January 1989 and that was active until 1998. During the years of activity, the band recorded two songs on the compilation album Whiplash Attack Vol. 1, released in 1990 and an album entitled Escape
into Fantasies, regarded as the first heavy metal concept album in the Brasil, released on vinyl in 1991 by the label Rock Brigade Records and re-released in a beautiful triple cd box, with all the recordings of the band, including demo tapes and a 1991 live show on Dies Irae Records.

Croskill returned to activity in 2013 for a show at the renowned Dosol Festival in Brazil. With this show, Croskill begins to resume the steps for the definitive return that ended up materializing in 2020, during the covid pandemic. The return took place with 2 original members of the band, Eri Soares (bass) and Jucian Lima (vocals and drums) who continued to compose new material with Karim Serri (guitar) and Denilton Falcão (guitar). Closing with the Brazilian label Dies Irae Records.

Croskill’s music during this period reveals striking nuances and rhythmic variations, showing the musical and timeless quality of his work. Bringing influences ranging from eighties heavy metal to progressive rock of the 70s, combined with a certain dose of modernity. Easily identifiable, its sonority immediately takes us back to the contemporaneity of these musical styles.
