Indian Nightmare “Banished Into Endless Chaos”

Five years after their second LP “By Ancient Force”, INDIAN NIGHTMARE are finally back with a resounding new sign of life. Titled “Banished Into Endless Chaos”, the Berlin-based tribal metal punks’ latest EP features three tracks that serve as a harbinger for the band’s third studio album later in 2025.

“We always like to add new flavours but keep the essence of what we do,” explains guitarist Butch. “However, we learned so much since the last album and now are executing that, so this EP is the first step into a new domain. Of course, the biggest change are the vocals.”

Speaking of which, the band found themselves without a front man in 2021. “Our dear friend Alban from Tracer helped out so we could perform live while looking for a permanent new singer,” reiterates Butch, who feels relieved now that the line-up is complete again with Jaguars Claw from Leipzig speed metallers Morbyda on the mic.
Having been an INDIAN NIGHTMARE fan ever since, he was a perfect fit in every respect, enabling the group to branch out even further in the future. In the meantime, the artwork for “Banished into Endless Chaos” underscores the musicians’ self-concept: “The sword stands as a testament to resistance, while the flames and mirror shards reveal the harsh reality we often ignore.”

Whereas the EP stresses the band’s high-octane nature, Butch announces with regards to the third full-length: “We want to put more focus on shorter and more brutal punk songs in the style of our first album, while keeping some longer experimental and more metal songs.”

Review

Looking into the Fire comes in squealing with feedback, before we are thrown tumbling and rumbling drum ideas! This is topped by some delightful guitar leads that sing towards the skies! However this does not last too long as the sounds of quick picked guitars and high pitched heavy metal screams wake everyone one and send the birds to fly away! Feel the surge of speed, the rush of pure adrenaline, and the electrifying power of soaring, high-pitched vocals that will have you throwing your hands in the air and singing along at full volume! The doubled kick that is latched to brutal bass lines and killer riffage will break you neck in half! Hell yeah!

Secret Path speeds off so fast that it leaves a dust cloud lingering behind! The guitar work is dripping with fuel and ferocity that you feel it could explode should it catch a spark at any minute! Jaguars Claw vocal delivery is something special! Imagine a blood thirsty beast just finishing off a fresh kill while letting off the odd shrill scream! His vocal style just adds some meat to this already frantic and punishing track. The group vocals just add that extra bit of intensity while the solos make you feel uneasy and on the edge!Considering this is only a three track EP it really makes me want to see these guys live! Absolute tantalising song!

Lucifer here stirs things with its hazy and hypnotic intro section, using repetitive ideas to lock you in that spell! But then, you are catapulted into another crazy tornado of destructive riffs and drums that just feel like they are going to the rip the skin from your body. Its this wonderful and delicious blend of speed, thrash and heavy metal rolled into one. This is one of those ultimate pit songs that could quite easily leave listeners injured and bruised! Even those split seconds of blasts add that something special that secret sauce! The guitar work notably feels sinister and evil and this has somewhat been the tone through out the whole EP! Brain equals destroyed!

Conclusion

What just happened! This totally ruled! In just three songs Indian Nightmare have just blown the roof clean off and my mind is literally left buzzing. Consider this is the first time listening I am super impressed and will certainly be going away and checking out more of their work! What a monster of an EP!
