DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present DEMON SPELL’s striking debut mini-album, Evil Nights, on CD and 12” vinyl formats.
How would you feel if, during the night, while you’re lying on your bed, something touches you in the dark? The air grows cold, their eyes emerge from darkness, and you feel your body tense. The shivers begin, shocked by horror, possessed by unholy force – you cannot escape from this hell. Now evil breaks loose and you’re under a DEMON SPELL!
Such is the sonic sensation of DEMON SPELL’s debut mini-album, Evil Nights. The Italian quartet may be name in name, but their sound is most definitely OLD. Among that lineup are such veterans as drummer Dario Casabona, who played with Italy’s legendary Schizo for 20 years, and guitarist Francesco Bauso, who was a founding member stoner-doom titans Haunted. Along with vocalist Federico Fano and bassist Riccardo Liberti, DEMON SPELL bring forth HORROR and EVIL in purest ‘80s heavy metal form: obsessed maniacs who were born under the sign of the moon during terrifying nightmares and morbid rituals. Black-magic riffs, hellfire-burning drums, and soaring King Diamond-esque vocals from Fano telling untold tales from Hell and the beyond. Indeed, it’s difficult to shake the early Mercyful Fate comparisons with Evil Nights, but when it’s done with such blanching authenticity and eerie power, why fight it?! Of course, we could also invoke such names as ‘80s Satan’s Host, Witch Cross, and even the almighty Death SS, but on evidence of the four songs presented here, DEMON SPELL are already on their way in stirring up a bewitching cauldron of nocturnal delights. Celebrate darkness and scream out heavy metal ‘til your very last breath during these Evil Nights!

Review
I love discovering new music and so when this landed in my inbox I was instantly curious especially from the art work and name! This release is made up of four tracks and some times they say quality always beats quantity and this certainly packs a punch!
Opening the mini-album is the self title song “Demon Spell” which starts off with a fuzzy crackle, chains with an evil voice. Then the track gives us a simple yet catchy riff that feels classic to open. The music is hard hitting straight forward heavy metal that feels something lifted from the past. The vocals break through the mix nicely and work perfectly with the music! The tempo is fast but not frantic so you can really dial into the ballsy rhythm guitar work that goes hard! The lads kick things of certainly in style!
“Wings” continues delivery more tantalising heavy metal. Keeping up a similar pace Demon Spell throw in some nice barrages of double kick and big soaring, powerful screams. This song certainly flies high above the clouds and shoots down bolts of lightning! Its pumped up and full of swing and flair! So get your horns and raise them high!
High pitched vocals open up “Dark Deceiver Woman of the Black Oath” followed by some fully charged up metal riffage and spikes of high pitched vocal work. I love the swing of the drum work using the ride and toms to give some sections some bounce and flavour. And as i sit listening to this third track, i certainly feel a sense of nostalgia and oldskool vibes. This is certainly another headbanger that cracks the whip! And holy cow the solo in this song is spicy! I feel like smoke started to come through my Mac monitor! Kick ass!
Finally we have “Evil Nights” to end this mini-album starting with a big scream before throwing up dust like a tornado! And I must say as soon as that main riff came In I was blown away. Its as if its gloss is shimmering in the sun and the heat it is producing is ready to melt the tarmac! This is the heavy metal I live for! The song is uptempo, full of electricity and sparking. It does a take a slight darker twist part way through which is interesting. Can you imaging shooting through the sky while a severe storm is blasting you in the face, blurring your vision? That is was that section feels like! And of course we are given a beast of a finishing section! What a killer tune to lead out this release.
Conclusion
Demon Spell delivers a powerful punch with this four-track mini-album! Channeling the raw energy and spirit of the ’80s, it hits hard with an unrelenting, balls-to-the-wall sound that will leave listeners exhilarated. Each track is packed with killer riffs that drive the music forward, creating an intense and immersive experience. The powerful screams throughout the album are capable of shattering glass with their sheer force. This mini-album is a testament to the enduring appeal of hard-hitting rock and metal. Whether you’re nostalgic for the glory days of ’80s rock or just looking for something that delivers pure, unadulterated energy, Demon Spell’s latest release is sure to satisfy.
