With three months remaining till the kick-off date of this year’s Running Free Festival (30.08-31.08.2024), the complete band line-up is already defined and made public couple of weeks ago. Luckily for all of you NWOTHM aficionados, Day 1 of this annual event has quite a lot to offer to your refined taste, giving a reason to plenty of fanatics to travel from all across Europe and probably beyond, to rally in the picturesque Strinava campsite, near the old town of Dryanovo in the heart of Bulgaria.  Three prominent names from the traditional heavy scene are complementing the headliners of EVIL INVADERS from Belgium, to form hell of a roster to bang your head on for an entire festival day. Coming from different corners of the continent, all united by the eternal flame of metal brotherhood, these bands are amongst the finest in the genre and are heading for their debut on what’s considered one of the most iconic open-air underground festivals in the Balkans.

Straight out of Murcia (Spain), the beasts from IRON CURTAIN are summoned to deliver their battle metal, with no remorse, regret or compromise. Loyal to their signature style and unique interpretation of speedy and thrashy metal, armed with a fresh new album named “Savage Dawn”, the Spaniards promise an unforgettable experience for everyone who makes it out alive after their show. Excited to conquer the stage, the guys promise some nasty surprises to commemorate this encounter with the local headbangers, so keep eyes and ears open for further updates.

From south of France, the stalwarts of heavy sound and french lyrics TENTATION will contribute to the diversity and flamboyance of the festival atmosphere. Following their critically acclaimed debut “Le berceau des dieux” and gained stage fame with numerous festival appearances, the quartet from Torreilles, Occitanie province, present an irresistible temptation for those passionate about classic metal.

Defending the honor of Central Europe, we face AXE CRAZY from Poland. A local dominant force, representing the region of Silesia, those boys made quite a name in the underground festivals across the country and beyond, recently delivering a breathtaking opening act at the renowned Heavy Metal Thunder festival in the Czech Republic. With three album releases on their account, the last one ¨Creatures on the Hunt¨ dating from 2023, its time for the band to undertake an epic journey to the farthest point from home they´ve ever been and inject heavy dosage of old-school metal mastery into the show bloodstream.
