On January 27^th, 2023 old school hard rock ‘n’ rollers Freeroad released their debut record Do What You Feel! via Dying Victims Productions. They hail from Monterrey, Mexico, and have been carving their own unique sound out from the foundations of classic rock of the ‘70s and ‘80s, along with a generous nod to the spirit of the NWOBHM.

The opening track “Do What You Feel!” opens with a soaring riff that gives way to a hard rocking tune with a solid groove. The band is clearly talented and shows promise in the licks and hooks that they throw down in this tune. Another stand out track is “Pray for the King”, and the spirit of the NWOBHM is alive and well on it. It opens quick, immediately grabs your ear, and is in your face right until the grand finale. Even though this is track 3, it was impossible not to stand up and cheer for an encore. More appropriately, you’ll want to jam on a scenic mountain road stark naked… just like the cover!

It’s impressive how this band is showing a wide range of talent and having mastered so many influences across all 9 tracks. You’ll find yourself pumping your fist, banging your head, and singing along with the band. They are making music for the pure love of doing so, and the energy is infectious. Though they are rooted in timeless classics, they manage to burst forth with something refreshing.

There are no boundaries as to where this group can go. Show them plenty of love and support as they continue to evolve and grow. This is definitely a band to keep a eye out for.
