Serbian metal outfit OathBringer will be storming countries this year with their fists full of metal promoting their debut album “Tales Of Glory.” We wanted to know more about the band and so TheNwohthm.com was fortunate to catch the band for an interview and see what was in store for 2023!

THE NWOTHM: For those who do not know who you are, can you tell us your band name,
who is in the band and where you are from?
O.B: Greetings, we are a four-piece band from Kragujevac, Serbia. We perform under the name
Oathbringer“ and play heavy metal! Oathbringer are:
Miloš “Priestkiller” Stošić – Lead Vocals/Bass guitar
Lazar “Berserker” Zakić – Back vocals/Rhythm guitar
Petar “Axxer” Đorđević – Back vocals/Lead guitar
Bora “Helldiver” Petrović – Drums
THE NWOTHM: How did the band form and is there any interesting story surrounding its
formation?
O.B: The idea for the creation of the band started at the end of 2019, when Berserker invited
Priestkiller for a beer. As it always happens, nothing ends with one beer. We listened to
some ideas from a couple of years ago, Priestkiller wrote down the lyrics and we recorded
the first demo. We were so satisfied with that song that we decided to re-record it and
release it on YouTube under the project name “Riddle of Steel”. After a few months and
mutual satisfaction with the direction our cooperation is going, we decided to invite
Helldiver and Axxer to the band, that moment marks the official beginning of Oathbringer.
THE NWOTHM: Since the bands formation what big milestones have you achieved?
O.B: The biggest achievement so far is definitely the release of our debut album “Tales Of Glory”
which was released in June 2022 for the RTR records from Texas, USA. The album was very
well received by listeners all over the world, which is a great pleasure for us. Also, in a
short period of time, the band played at the biggest festivals in Serbia.
THE NWOTHM: Can you tell us any fun/ interesting facts about the members of the band?
O.B:The band members have been active on the domestic metal scene for a long time. Berserker
was a member of the bands Steel Hornet, Invisible Hate and Quintessence, Priestkiller is a
member of Deadly Mosh and Motorcharge, he also played in the bands Steel Hornet, Hard
Ride and Sarcophag, Black Sun. Axxer played in Invisible Hate and Helldiver was a member
of Deadly Mosh, Steel Hornet and actively plays in the band Motorcharge. As you can see
the members are active in the local metal scene, although some band members have played
together before, this is the first time we are all in the same band.
THE NWOTHM: What bands and artists have influenced you and helped you to carve your
sound?
O.B: There are a number of bands that have influenced all of us, but despite that we try to have a
unique sound. We can’t name any band as the biggest role model, since we all listen to different bands and different musical styles every day. Let’s say that we are mostly inspired
by the metal scene of the 80s, but also by more recent bands.
THE NWOTHM: Can you tell us about your most recent release(s) and any background
information to the music? How did the songs come about?
O.B: In June 2022, we released our debut album “Tales Of Glory” which was released for RTR
Records. On January 6th, we released the new single “Hall Of The Slain” announcing the
work on the new album that will be released this year, also for RTR Records.
THE NWOTHM: What shows have you got coming up for 2023? Any major performances
you would like to highlight?
O.B: We already have scheduled dates for the summer, including independent concerts and
festivals. We are currently negotiating with a couple of bigger festivals, but we will
announce all that soon on our social networks.
THE NWOTHM: Any other plans for 2023? With it being a new year, what do you hope to
achieve in the upcoming months?
O.B: As I said before, we are preparing a new album that will be released by the end of this year.
We also plan to actively promote both the debut album and the album that is currently in
preparation.
THE NWOTHM: Where can people check you out on social media and buy your
music/merch?
O.B: We are currently on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We also have an account on
Bandcamp and the plan is to have all our songs on all major platforms.
