From the very heart of Sofia, the capital of the great state of Bulgaria, here I come – Alex “The Axel”a.k.a. “Scarsoul” and in the very early 90-ties something sudden happened. I discovered Heavy Metal and this drastically changed my life. Forever! Breaking free from the shackles of communist popular culture has happened few years before and like the majority of kids of that age, heavy music was the only source of expression and rebellion against the status quo, practically since the beginning of the eighties, so I joined a mighty legion which was well established and grew by the day.
Carrying the metal flag high, all throughout the sad days of grunge, being a diehard champion of heavy music, doctrine and lifestyle, my metal journey went through a number of episodes and stages encompassing the speed, power, thrash and classic sub-genres. This took me to a countless number of
festivals, concerts, parties and adventures, some of them engraving memories in my head forever, while others just melting in the crazy pot of chasing the heavy metal dream. Nearly a decade ago, I immersed myself in something both new and familiar, jumping into the depths of NWOTHM, embracing the
movement and passionately supporting it with all my heart and soul.
So here you can find me today – collecting CDs, spending a fortune on metal merchandise, active member of MetalForce Bulgaria club, regularly visiting the most celebrated events around Europe, organizing gigs and running my own local festival, all in all , doing everything to contribute to the oldschool metal community. And why I do it? Because not only HEAVY METAL IS THE LAW. It’s the soundtrack of my life!
